Appearances

Most everyone will agree that your appearance is very important. How you come across to the customer or client can make or break a deal.

The other day, I dropped my car off at the shop and was walking back when I passed by this business. Not much to look at is it? (If you cannot tell, that is tar paper covering spots on the roof.)

Now I have never been inside that business but the signs say they sell flowers and rent tuxedos. They might actually do a good job but from their outward appearance, I would not even consider them an option.

Needless to say, it is important that your business look good and put its best foot forward. This is true for your brick and mortar building but also too for your online presence.  How do you look online? Does it look like you are active? Keep information updated? Have you claimed your business listing(s)? Do you respond to emails quickly? Do you participate in any social networking?

Right now so many small businesses really ignore or do not know how to take care of their online presence. What this means to you, is that you have an opportunity to help your business stand out and get noticed. A small business listing which has relevant information and appears to be filled out properly will easily stand out right now.

Folks online are searching for information and they want it quickly. Take the time or hire someone to get your online presence up to snuff.

It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearances.” -Oscar Wilde 🙂
