More Local Search Studies

Just wanted to bring to your attention 2 studies that came out this month, if you need something to read.

The 1st is TMP Study Finds Shoppers Research Online, Buy Locally which has some nice stats on local searches. Greg Sterling, talk about it over at Search Engine Land. “What’s now been repeatedly documented, however, is the fact that the overwhelming majority of transactions (goods or services) happen locally, but the Internet plays an increasing role in consumer decision making”

The 2nd is  Yahoo’s ROBO Study again Greg Sterline reviewed it at Search Engine Land. This study reviewed online advertising and consumer retail purchase behaviors.  “Consumers exposed to online retail marketing campaigns were more engaged and spent more dollars in physical stores than otherwise”
